  1. 42nd Black April Commemoration

    April 30, 2017, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ San Jose City Hall

We invite you and your family to join us for the 42nd Commemoration of Black April - the day that marks the Fall of Saigon and triggered waves refugees from the country. Through collaboration with many different organizations, the Vietnamese American Roundtable has organized the Black April Commemoration for the past four years. This will be our fifth. During that time, we have learned more about our potential to narrate our stories, vocalize our issues, and mobilize our people. We have reflected on our past and what our future may be. We have acted on the interests of the Vietnamese-American community and our values. This year, we seek to expand on this tradition. As refugees and children of refugees, we are mindful of the tragic conflicts around the world that have led to the exodus of millions of people from their homes. We face a global refugee crisis and these refugees cannot be forgotten because their stories are our own.
