  2. PG&E the Water-Energy Nexus: Holistic Solutions for Climate Change and Resiliency

    Join Park Rangers for a gentle stroll through San José’s beautiful Japanese Friendship Garden. As you walk along the winding paths, Rangers will introduce the garden’s history and explain the symbolism of many of the artifacts and design features. This is a family-friendly tour over paved paths with some uneven surfaces and hills. Guests should meet at the main gate to the garden off Senter Road. Parking is $6 at the Japanese Friendship Garden lot off Senter Road and Alma Avenue. All other parking lots are $10.00. For more information, call the Park Rangers at 408-794-6200.

  1. McLaughlin Avenue Safety Improvement Project community meeting

    April 18, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Tully Community Branch Library

    The McLaughlin Avenue Safety Improvement project is a federally funded project that runs from Highway 280 to Capitol Expressway, a total of 3.2 miles. The project will increase pedestrian safety and visibility by installing Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacons, enhancing existing crosswalks for high visibility, upgrading ramps to be ADA-compliant, and installing new median islands with landscaping to improve safety by decreasing vehicular speeds. McLaughlin Avenue has been classified as one of San Jose’s “Safety Priority Streets” under the City's Vision Zero Initiative to end traffic fatalities and severe injuries.
