New ‘Ready For Play’ Volunteer Program

Announcing a new way to volunteer with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services, “Ready For Play.” Overseen by the Volunteer Management Unit, this opportunity relies on corporate and community teams to beautify local parks. In the winter months, playgrounds and picnic areas collect dust, dirt and weeds. “Ready For Play” improves neighborhood parks, preparing them for spring play and fun. Volunteer teams commit to just three hours with all supplies and training provided. To volunteer, contact Mollie Tobias at mollie.tobias@sanjoseca.gov or 408-595-3483. For more information, contact Justin Long, PRNS Deputy Director, at 408-793-5579.
