San José Recognized as a Dog Friendly City

San José is one of the most dog friendly cities in the nation according to a Compare the Market Study. When ranked by dog related amenities per capita, San José lands at ninth in the United States. Complementing the study, BringFido, a travel resource for pet owners, called attention to the city’s pet friendliness. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services manages 13 dog parks throughout the City where dogs can run freely off-leash; and there are now more opportunities for residents and their pets with a new dog park at Esther Medina and two pop-up parks at Welch and Penitencia Creek parks. For more information, contact Justin Long, PRNS Deputy Director, at 408-793-5579.
